Debra is a journalist, columnist and contributor to Arizona Jewish Life Magazine and the Edmonds Beacon. She’s also an actor and spokesperson who spent the late 90s hosting her own talk show, The Debra Rich Show, on KFI radio in Los Angeles. Debra’s writing tends towards the quirky and irreverent and focuses on the absurdities that abound in everyday reality. Her blog, Unmotherly Insights, offers parents a humorous, self-reflective take on motherhood that delves deeply into the issues facing parents today. A number of Debra’s short plays have been produced at festivals and theaters across the county. Her full-length plays The Happiest Place on Earth, With Friends Like These, … and the Chihuahua I and II, and Unmotherly Insights into Modern Mothering have enjoyed fully produced runs at The Herberger Theatre Center’s Lunchtime Theater in Phoenix, AZ. Her full length holiday play Twist of the Magi received critical acclaim in its world premier at Theatre Artists Studio in Phoenix, AZ and was so successful last year at The Phoenix Theatre in Edmonds, WA, it’s being remounted again this holiday season. Debra is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild of America (DGA) and three of her plays have been selected for presentation in the DGA’s New Works Festivals. She’s starred in many professional theatre productions around the country, co-starred in numerous feature films and continues her pursuit of work in film, television, and theatre.
